Commissioner Highlight: Ariel Ackerman, AZ

It's time for a commissioner highlight! Today, we're recognizing AmeriCorps alum Ariel Ackerman, who has been serving as a commissioner with Arizona Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism for two years.

A blue background of hands gathering together, white text reads I serve because “I developed a passion for catalyzing the strengths and natural leadership of a community to tackle complex issues in that community.” Highlighted is Ariel Ackerman portrayed in a photo at the bottom right, smiling and dressed in professional attire.

Ariel said, "From my time with Public Allies Arizona (an AmeriCorps program), I developed a passion for catalyzing the strengths and natural leadership of a community to tackle complex issues in that community. I believe service and volunteerism is one of the best ways to execute this. Even though I am currently in nonprofit operations, serving on the AZ Governor's Commission still allows me to fulfill my passion for national service and volunteerism."

Thank you for your service, Ariel!
